Openstack Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

LOCATION: FINLAND

YOUR TASKS:

  • Configuration of a private cloud based on OpenStack in the IAAS concept.
  • Identify problems and risks early; explicitly highlight obstacles and proposes actions to address them.
  • Apply the solution architecture methodology, best practices, state of the art knowledge of network, applications & operations portfolio, processes and principles to create value for the customer and for the Company.
  • Participate as an expert during the tender process to support the building and writing of the proposals.
  • Work typically involves an in-depth assessment of the client’s technology, markets and needs, consulting to further clarify the needs, modelling and simulation plan to upgrade the solution and engineering to deliver solutions.
  • Ongoing innovation to make products, processes and services better serve customer needs. Translate customer’s requirements to design the full scope of the solution in the domain, to achieve workable end-to-end solutions including Nokia and third-party sub-systems as defined.
  • Ensure the solution feasibility of the solution from technical, migration, integration, operation and maintenance perspective.
  • Maintain the integrity & the consistency of the solution on its domain over the whole project cycle.

SKILLS:

  • Deep knowledge about Openstack in context of establishing and managing private clouds.
  • Experience with VMware solutions.
  • Finnish citizenship is required.

ADDITIONALLY:

  • Knowledge of container software (Docker or equivalent).
  • Knowledge and experience in concept: Infrastructure as a service (IAAS).
  • Good knowledge of IP Networking, Firewalls with experience in configuring L2/L3 Switches and routers.
  • Practical Linux administrations skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment with minimum of 2 years of experience (RedHat Admin II skills – equivalent or higher).
  • Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages.
  • Proactivity in analyzing technical problems around product installation, configuration, integration.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) and the ability to work well in a global team environment.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with IPMI, ILO, BIOS and Firmware Upgrades.
  • Experience in TELCO.
  • Certifications like CCNA/CCNP are a plus for Networking Knowledge.
  • Certifications like RedHat OpenStack are a plus for Cloud Knowledge.
  • International experience desirable (working internationally and / or working with global solutions).
